What this tool handles
This utilities tool focuses on English words, Letter combinations, Word puzzles.
- Turn loose letters into valid words
- Respect repeated-letter counts
- Use wildcard letters
- Group results by word length
Letters, not order
The single most useful thing to understand about unscrambling is that the order you type in carries no information. A set of letters is defined by which letters it contains and how many of each — its multiset. Every word built from those letters shares that same fingerprint, which is why the tool can find all of them in one pass rather than testing arrangements one at a time.
This is also why repeated letters behave the way they do. Two Es in your input means words needing two Es are available, and words needing three are not. The tool tracks counts, not just presence.
From loose letters to a usable shortlist
A large letter set can return hundreds of words, which is not always helpful. The filters exist to cut that down to the ones you can actually use: set a length if the space you are filling is fixed, set a starting letter if you are building off a tile already on the board, or set a contained letter if the word has to cross an existing one.

Frequently asked questions
How do I unscramble letters into words?
Type the letters into the box in any order. The tool compares every subset of your letters against the dictionary and lists each valid word, grouped by length. You do not need to guess an order, and repeated letters are handled correctly.
What if I have a blank tile?
Type a question mark for each blank. The tool substitutes every letter of the alphabet in turn and includes any word that becomes possible. You can use up to three blanks at once.
Can I unscramble letters into a word of a specific length?
Yes. Open the advanced filters and set the word length, or jump straight to a dedicated page such as five-letter or seven-letter words from your letters.
Does the order of the letters I type matter?
No. Only which letters you have and how many of each matters. Typing the same letters in a different order produces identical results.
