Boggle Solver

Enter the letters on your Boggle board and get the full word list, longest first, so you know exactly what you missed.

Trace real paths through the grid

Words may move horizontally, vertically or diagonally, and a square cannot be reused within one word. Enter squares one by one or paste the whole board in reading order.

A Q square behaves as the standard Qu cube. Words shorter than three letters are excluded.

0/16 squares entered

Fill every square to find only words connected by a legal path.

Quick answer

How does the Boggle Solver find words on a grid?

Enter each row of the board and the solver follows legal neighboring cells in eight directions. It returns words whose letters form a continuous path without reusing a cell in the same word.

Worked example

Input: A 4×4 board containing adjacent C → A → T

Result: CAT is returned with its board path

Letters must touch horizontally, vertically or diagonally, and a cell cannot be reused in the same word.

What this tool handles

This game tool focuses on Boggle, Letter grids, Word paths.

  • Search 4×4 and 5×5 boards
  • Follow horizontal, vertical and diagonal paths
  • Prevent cell reuse within a word
  • Show the path for each result

Legal paths, not just matching letters

A rack unscrambler can combine letters from anywhere; Boggle cannot. Every next letter must touch the previous cell, and the path cannot return to a cell already used. The solver checks those board coordinates directly.

Result paths make answers verifiable: follow the highlighted or listed positions on your board before counting a word.

Boggle scoring and search strategy

Longer words are worth disproportionately more, so inspect the longest results first. On the board, common endings such as -ING, -ED and -ER often extend several shorter stems into higher-value answers.

Frequently asked questions

Which letters count as adjacent?

Horizontal, vertical and diagonal neighbors all count. A path can turn direction after every letter.

Can I reuse a square?

No. Each board position can appear only once in a single word, even when the same letter is needed twice.

Can I enter a 5×5 board?

Yes. The solver accepts both standard 4×4 grids and larger 5×5 boards.

How is Qu handled?

Enter the board as shown by the interface. The solver treats adjacent letters consistently with the entered grid and reports the path used for each word.
